CurseForge also supports add-ons for many other games like World of Warcraft.

1. Select the Game:

  • In the CurseForge dashboard, select World of Warcraft (or any other game you want to mod).

  • Similar to mods, you can manage, update, disable, or remove add-ons through the My Addons tab.

Step 6: Backing Up and Managing Profiles

1. Backing Up Mod Profiles:

  • To ensure you don’t lose your mod settings, CurseForge allows you to back up your profiles. You can access this feature from the profile settings in the My Modpacks section.

2. Importing Modpacks:

  • If you want to use a modpack from another source (such as one downloaded from the web), you can import it into CurseForge. Click Import Modpack, then browse for the modpack’s .zip file.

Step 7: Troubleshooting Mods

1. Mod Conflicts:

  • If your game crashes or fails to load, there may be a mod conflict. Disable recently added mods to find which one is causing the issue.
  • Always check that you are using the correct version of the mod that matches your game version and modloader.

2. Checking Mod Dependencies:

  • Some mods require other mods (dependencies) to function properly. When installing a mod, CurseForge will notify you if any dependencies are missing and install them for you.

Step 8: Exploring Popular Modpacks

Some of the most popular modpacks you can explore on CurseForge include:

  • Minecraft:
    • SkyFactory 4: A skyblock modpack focusing on automation and progression.
    • RLCraft: Known for being a challenging and realistic survival modpack.
    • FTB (Feed The Beast): Offers various modpacks focused on tech, magic, and adventure.
  • World of Warcraft:
    • Deadly Boss Mods (DBM): Provides alerts and timers for boss fights in raids and dungeons.
    • WeakAuras 2: Allows you to create custom visual alerts for buffs, debuffs, and other combat data.

Step 9: Using CurseForge in Combination with Twitch (Legacy Feature)

CurseForge was previously integrated with the Twitch app, allowing you to manage mods from there. While CurseForge now operates as a standalone app, older users may still prefer using the Twitch app for mod management.

Step 10: Staying Updated with the CurseForge Community

To stay informed about new mods, add-ons, or updates:

  • Follow Mod Creators: Many mod creators share updates on their mod pages or social media.
  • Join Modding Communities: Subreddits like r/feedthebeast and r/CurseForge are great places to discuss mods and get recommendations.

CurseForge makes modding games easy, whether you’re looking to add a few mods to Minecraft or customize your World of Warcraft experience with add-ons.
